A team of Archaeologists are surveying the entire Nassau Street lot, where the historic First Baptist Church building was located. On May 27 the team noted that some interesting features and foundations started to show up on radar. They are really encouraged about what might lie below the pavement. The team has taken a closer look at what they saw on May 27th back in the lab and will return this week on Tuesday, June 9 to do additional work surveying the site. In the coming days, the team will be able to produce some images that will be shared with us that will help to outline what they were able to see below the paved parking lot at the site. All of this will help to plan for the excavations that will happen this fall. Stay tuned!
