Christian Education at the Historic First Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Virginia is that process that unifies the saints, matures them in the Word, spiritual growth, and discipleship of believers. The vision is “We are unified in Christ as Christ is in God”. The mission is “Getting to Know Him, Making Him Known, and Making Disciples.” We get to know Him through the study of God’s word in Bible study and the Discipleship Hour. We make Him known through evangelism. We make disciples by teaching them to obey all the Jesus commands. We do all of this with discipline and excellence.
Christian education undergirds every ministry in the Church. It is the disciple-making arm of the church. It is concerned about reaching people for Christ, working with people to help them become deeply devoted and obedient followers of Jesus who mature as Christians and use their gifts to build and bless others. It involves Discipleship ministry and every ministry within the church.
It is vital to the life of the believer and essential to the body of Christ. Consequently, we established ministries that meet the needs of First Baptist Church. Christian education ministries continually evolve and provide relevant (and some would even say counter-cultural) approaches to learning the Bible and the creeds and rituals of a church.
Join us for Bible Study at 7:00PM every Thursday. Prayer Service begins at 6:30PM.
